2011 ReadyKids Art, Essay and Video Contest
Ready Georgia would like to thank Georgia’s fifth-graders for helping to get your families and schools prepared for emergencies. We received many art pieces, essays and videos that displayed your creativity and skills, as well as your level of preparedness.
This year’s contest winners will receive great prizes donated by The Home Depot, Imagine It! The Children’s Museum of Atlanta, CNN, Chick-fil-A (Chamblee Plaza), Chick-fil-A (Peachtree at Collier) and Papa Johns.

Get Ready, Kids!
Check out what these kids have to say about being prepared.
There are many ways you can help your family get prepared:
· Help your family prepare its Ready Kit. Make sure to include some games, toys or favorite foods for you!
· If you have pets, help your parents prepare for them too
· Ask your parents about your family’s communication plan: do you have a meeting place? Do you know Mom and Dad’s work and/or mobile phone numbers?
· Check out ReadyKids for tips and tools with Rex, the ReadyKids mascot. Or visit the Sesame Street gang for more activities to get you and your family prepared.
· And, if your school or community is holding an event, ask them to invite Rex to attend!
Invite Rex
Rex, a strong and confident mountain lion who encourages children to help their families prepare, is the mascot of the Ready campaign.
