ReadyKids
Hey Kids! Put your planning skills to good use. Help your family get prepared for the unexpected. Being prepared for a natural or man-made disaster, such as a flood or tornado, can ensure that you and your family stay safe and stay together.

So, what can you do to help your family prepare? Here are some suggestions:
- Help your family create a Ready kit. Put games, toys and some of your favorite snacks (non-perishable, of course!) in there too.
- If you have pets, help your parents make a Ready kit and safety plan for them too.
- Ask your parents about your family’s communication plan: Do you have a meeting place? Do you know Mom and Dad’s work and/or cell phone numbers?
- Try these fun, hands-on activities with your family, friends or classmates.
- For more tips and tools check out ReadyKids America and Rex, the readiness mountain lion. You can also visit the Sesame Street gang for more fun activities to get you and your family prepared.
- And, if your school or community is holding an event, ask them to invite Rex!
Invite Rex
Rex, a strong and confident mountain lion who encourages children to help their families prepare, is the mascot of the Ready campaign.
